Training rules

3 Basics Everything:

After 30-plus years of coaching kettlebell lifting - this is what it always comes down to.

Three basics. Not five. Not ten.

Three.

Number one - your ability to perform correct technique on any particular single kettlebell lift.

Not good enough technique. Correct technique.

Number two - your confidence in your ability to perform that technique.

Confidence matters because hesitation shows up in your movement. And hesitation under load creates problems.

Number three - your ability to maintain both your technique and your confidence in the face of fatigue.

Because fatigue is where everything falls apart for most guys.

The set starts clean. The first few reps look good. Then fatigue creeps in more info - and suddenly the technique you were confident about starts to slip.

That's the moment most guys ignore.

They push through because stopping feels like weakness.

But pushing through degraded technique under fatigue isn't toughness. It's just practicing the wrong pattern with more effort behind it.

If you find yourself mid-session needing to switch from no rest between sides to resting between sides - that's okay.

Just make a note in your training journal of where the break happened.

And make it your goal to push that break point further out over time.

That's measurable progress.

That's what getting better actually looks like.
